BuddyPress Rate Forum Posts 1.4.1

Author: Deryk Wenaus
Users can rate forum posts in BuddyPress. Good posts are highlighted and poor posts diminished. Highlighted karma points shown for each user

Upload bp-rate-forum-posts folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
Begin rating posts!
This is not terribly important, and will be fixed in BP 1.2.4, but in order to see forum ratings in the topic listings properly go to /bp-themes/bp-default/forums/forums-loop.php and after line 32 which is <th id=”th-freshness”><?php _e( ‘Freshness’, ‘buddypress’ ) ?></th> you should add this <?php do_action( ‘bp_directory_forums_extra_cell_head’ ) ?>. (I’ve added a trac request for BP 1.2.4 to add this useful action hook.)
Optionally edit plugin settings in the plugin file bp-rate-forum-posts.php and rate.inc.php.
Note that only system admins can rate posts as much as they want, others can only rate once.

How can I get feature XYZ implemented?

Send a paypal donation to deryk@bluemandala.com and I’ll happily do it. If I don’t do it, I’ll refund the donation. I’m an honest guy. Small donations also help support continued development.

why did the karma points double after upgrade to v 1.3?

I set the default karma calculation a bit higher. if you want it the way it was change the karma calculation in the admin to the 3rd choice.
